Today's mailing covers the recent topic of the White House flying a version of a pride flag in a way that goes against the US Flag Code. Was this news event covered by any media other than the conservative media? I don't know. Honestly, I don't even know if it was covered by the typical conservative media.
Although I quit watching Fox News about the time McCain ran for President, many more have quit watching this year since Tucker was "fired".
Where does one get their campaign information if they are like me? I browse several websites, but does the average Iowan do that? I don't know. I get the feeling that people are purposefully not following much news anymore.
With that said, does that make these types of mailings more impactful than previous years? Or does the average person still just toss them into the trashcan without reading them?
I fear that the average person across the country has simply checked out from most all things election and government related. I also fear this is exactly what one's opponents want us to do.
Somewhere deep down, we need to find the energy and purpose to keep staying knowledgeable and talking to our friends and neighbors about these things, but without getting worn down. If we don't, this election will not have a good outcome.
