Latest Poll: Broken or Deceptive? You Decide!
It has been almost two weeks since our last Presidential campaign mailing, but today we received two new ones and a very interesting telephone poll.

You can see the two new mailings below along with the latest snail mail totals.

I want to talk about the telephone poll.

The "polling company" announced themselves as "Analytics Services" and ended the poll with giving this number as what you can call to get more information: 703.261.4596.  I didn't look far, but I really didn't find a lot of information on either the name or the number.

The poll started with the normal questions about your likeliness to vote in the Iowa Caucuses.  They continued with some questions about your stances on various issues.

Then they asked you to rate each candidate separately on a scale of 1-7 on your willingness to caucus for the candidate.  They started with Burgum which, if they were going alphabetical, would make sense.  But the next candidate was Trump.  Then they asked about DeSantis, followed by Scott, Haley, and Pence.  After Pence, they asked the exact same question about Pence again.  I figured I must not have hit the button hard enough so I punched in the same number again.  And then they asked the same question about Pence again.  I hit the same button 8 more times and still they kept asking the EXACT SAME question about Pence.  At this point I was beginning to think the automated poll system was broken.  But against my better judgement, I hit a different number (one lower) the next time and then they went on to Ramaswamy. They didn't ask about any additional candidates and then ended the poll with the customary question about your race.

The poll didn't seem to favor any particular candidate, so I hesitate to say it was being run by any particular campaign or super PAC.  But the "bug" that surrounded the Pence question definitely seemed broken at best.  I don't know if it would have moved on had I chosen a higher number instead of a lower number.  Maybe they just didn't like that I was putting the same number for several of the candidates.

We get a lot of polls during these times and several of them are easily seen as push polls.  But we have never had one that did something like this.
