Casey DeSantis, wife of Ron DeSantis, fears that we could be one generation away from losing America. During a stop in Northwest Iowa on Tuesday, she said that she didn't want to look back one day and regret that she didn't do enough to fight for the future of America.
Even though a small group attended the Coffee and Conversation event supporting Ron DeSantis' bid for the presidency, the spirit of the first lady of Florida was not dampened. In fact, Casey DeSantis spoke with so much passion that I almost didn't notice the singing toddler sitting beside her. The "musical accompaniment," as Mrs. DeSantis called it, did not phase the mother of three young children. She joked with the young girl sitting on her mother's lap saying she wanted to take her on the campaign trail with her. Then Casey DeSantis jumped right back into her message.
As I listened, I was impressed with her depth of knowledge about the issues. Her understanding was further confirmed by the fact that she encouraged the audience to ask her any question about Governor Ron DeSantis' policies. One particular decision by the governor that stood out to me was his act to connect people in need with faith-based charities to help move people away from becoming government dependents.
She articulated her support for her husband's campaign for president. The crux of her dedication comes from watching Ron DeSantis during Covid fight for policies that protected Florida's freedoms and economy despite multiple attacks by the left, the right, and the media. She said that he would "arm himself with the truth" everyday, reaffirming that a fighter is who we need in the White House.
