Parental Control and Yard Signs
Today's mailer is a two sided 8 1/2 x 11 inch post card dealing with education and parental rights from the Never Back Down Super PAC. With DeSantis arriving in just two days, the barrage of mailings is somewhat par for the course.
Perhaps not coincidentally, I believe Trump has a campaign rally the same day in the Des Moines area. There really isn't any comparison as DeSantis will be a visitor to a local politician's yearly picnic and not headlining his own campaign rally. But it will be interesting to see just how many people show up at the two events.
Back to the mailing though, this postcard has a QR code for those that want to get a yard sign to support DeSantis. Just how useful yard signs are in elections anymore is perhaps easily debated. Twelve years ago, the yard signs in our area of Iowa would have easily educated the media that Rick Santorum was going to win the state. Eight years ago, it was more interesting, but I think the yard signs were also leaning toward Cruz. Four years ago, there weren't any competitors to Trump, so the yards signs were not relevant. It will be interesting to see how things go this year.
