I thought we would get a break in the political mailings. Maybe until closer to the debate in August. I was wrong. The Trump Super PAC sent another ad attacking Ron DeSantis.
This one has a lot of quotes from left leaning organizations: Money, CNN, and TPC. They also quote The Heritage Foundation.
The big problem I have with the ad is that it leaves a lot of context out of the discussion, leading one to believe that Ron DeSantis supports people paying a lot more in taxes.
While in Congress, DeSantis was a supporter of a National Sales Tax replacing the Federal Income Tax. Personally, I am a supporter of that as well if done properly. So although a Sales Tax would be a new tax, saying that DeSantis is for more taxes is not really true if the income tax is eliminated in the process.
The Trump Super PAC seems to think that talking about taxes is a win in their book. And if people take their ads at face value without doing any research, perhaps they will persuade some to shy away from DeSantis.
The real story here though is that the Super PAC is not attacking anyone besides Ron DeSantis. As I have said before you only attack the ones you are most concerned with and usually only if you are behind or losing ground.
